CHAPTER II: GRAINS
Grains is the second chapter of Coşku Turhan's musical journey. The title Grains represents the granular nature of sounds and textures that inspired the compositions. It's the idea that atomic elements when combined can form into something much greater than it's parts. Grains is a deeply personal exploration of the dance between jazz, modern harmonies and Turkish classical lyricism. Accompanying Turhan's beautiful compositions is Ahmet Türkmenoğlu on bass and Chris Wabich on drums. On Dusty Picture and Pyhsarum, Cenk Erdoğan is making a blissful appearance with his incredible playing and masterful sound. The album was recorded at the Tritone studios by Harriet Tam in Los Angeles, mixed by Cosku Turhan, and mastered by Evren Goknar. Special thanks to Vardan Ovsepian for his continuous mentorship not only on this album but forever. This album wouldn't be what it is without his input.
