CHAPTER 1: WOOD
His debut album, Chapter 1: Wood is first of several chapters, which chronicles the musical journey of Cosku Turhan. The name "Wood" not only represents the acoustic, pure and un-plugged nature of the sound of the album, but it also embodies the idea that music or creativity grows and expands like a tree and spreads its roots deep into the human conscience while communicating and interacting with different trees just like ideas themselves.
Cosku was accompanied by prominent jazz musicians Ferit Odman on drums, Ozan Musluoglu on bass, and Doruk Gonentur on trumpet. The album was recorded at Hayyam Studios, Istanbul and mixed by Michael Ross in Los Angeles, and was mastered by Evren Goknar also in Los Angeles.
Ferit Odman plays Gretsch Drums, Vic Firth Drumsticks & Istanbul Agop Cymbals exclusively.
